Joshua Favel joined the Toronto office from the Ottawa office April 1, 2025. Josh will continue his practice in Indigenous Law within the Corporate and Capital Markets Group.
Josh was called to the bar in 2020 and joined BLG in September 2024. He obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto and a Master of Laws from Cambridge.
Prior to joining BLG, Josh practiced corporate and commercial law as an associate at both a national firm in Toronto and a boutique Indigenous law firm. He was also a member of faculty at the University of Saskatchewan's College of Law where he served as an assistant professor. Josh is a member of Poundmaker Cree Nation and serves on the Indigenous Advisory Group at the Law Society of Ontario.

Any Obando Ospina has joined BLG as a Senior Associate in the Intellectual Property Group in the Toronto office.
Any’s practice focuses on intellectual property prosecution, enforcement, litigation, and proceedings before the Trademarks Opposition Board. Any has appeared as counsel in trademark and copyright matters before the Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal, and Provincial Court of Ontario. She also regularly assists with intellectual property and privacy due diligence for corporate domestic and cross-border transactions. Any also provides guidance on French language law and Canadian privacy legislation issues.
Any joins BLG from the Toronto office of a US-based law firm with a strong IP practice and has previously practiced in the IP group at a national Canadian law firm.
Any obtained her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2018 and was called to the bar in 2019. In 2023, Any received the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada’s Educational Foundation Award as the candidate with the highest overall mark in the Trademark Agent Qualifying Examination.
Any is trilingual with fluency in English, French, and Spanish. She completed her law school exchange in Hong Kong and has since visited almost every continent.
