The 18-member department at Garrigues Chile advises a genuinely impressive lender-side client roster on the full range of banking and financing work. Recent mandates include the acquisition of financial assets, project finance, restructuring and corporate lending. The Santiago office of the international legal and tax services firm also advises banks and financial institutions on regulatory matters. Highlights include advising SACYR Chile, as guarantor, on a €500m loan granted by Banco Santander, Caixabank and Société Générale to SACYR Spain for infrastructure and concessions projects. Practice head Pedro García Morales is particularly focused on corporate loans, debt restructuring, regulatory issues, and project and structured finance. Providing key support, Jaime de Larraechea‘s practice encompasses corporate loans, project financing and structured finance; and Antonio Morales‘ track record covers debt restructuring and project finance (both domestically and internationally). Principal associate Daniel Hernández Z, while more oriented towards capital markets’ work, is nevertheless responsible for the coordination of local and international financing transactions, as well as recurrent advice on regulatory matters and disclosure duties. In the senior associate group, Sebastián Nieme also assists with project finance and debt restructuring; Ignacio Vargas acts for lenders, borrowers and sponsors on asset acquisitions; and Maria Fernanda Jara is experienced in local and international bond issuances, and the regulation of banking and financial institutions. Jara also advises debtors and lenders on corporate finance, refinancing, restructurings, insolvency, and project finance.
