Larrain y Asociados Abogados' six-member banking and finance team is consistently mandated by banks, brokers and financial institutions and companies to structure syndicated loans. The practice is highly experienced in the financing of public infrastructure (including toll roads, airports and hospitals), energy, petrochemical and mining projects, as well as M&A and aircraft-related financings. Other notable areas are financings via the issuance of guaranteed and secured bonds, and advising foreign and local banks and bank agencies on ongoing issues, reorganisations, bankruptcies and liquidations. Recent highlights include corporate and bilateral loan agreements, and the modification and restructuring of previously-negotiated credits. The group also advised Banco de Chile and Banco del Estado de Chile on the approximately $100m syndicated financing for Red Aeroportuaria Austral Sociedad (a consortium comprising Cointer and Blackrock). The team is co-led by project financing specialist Patricio Montes and Diego Garay, a highly-regarded adviser for capital markets and project finance. The group further includes industrial project finance expert Jorge Granic; and Cristóbal Morandé and Joaquín Larrain, who are also both experienced in project finance. In the associate team, Michelle Inzunza focuses on banking and finance, along with public works concessions, project development, corporate law and real estate.
