The multidisciplinary restructuring, insolvency and special situations at Cuatrecasas routinely acts in cross-border insolvencies; and in addition to in- court insolvency and restructuring proceedings, the practice handles out-of-court matters. ‘Highly focused on solving problems’, it further assists creditors, debtors, management teams, and shareholders on restructuring-related transactions. The Santiago group also comprises specialists in litigation, finance, M&A and tax. Leading the team in addition to co-heading the litigation department, Gianfranco Lotito is a restructuring and insolvency expert, particularly cross-border insolvency proceedings; Alfonso Ugarte (currently located in the firm's New York office) advises creditors and debtors on bankruptcy-related restructurings and reorganisations, as well as distressed financing; and Tomás Kubick's broad practice includes insolvency work.
