The six-member restructuring, insolvency and bankruptcy team at Dentons traditionally acts for creditors in a range of insolvency proceedings; but it is increasingly sought out by debtor companies to assist with out-of-court reorganisations and judicial proceedings. The group regularly works alongside the full-service firm’s dispute resolution, corporate law, real estate, and banking & finance departments on major insolvency and restructuring mandates. Other notable sector expertise ranges from electricity, mining and agriculture, to agrochemicals, infrastructure, maritime and retail. Key mandates for the team include advising US pizza restaurant chain, Papa John’s International, on the reorganisation procedure of its franchisee in Chile; and representing Grupo Convertidor Papelero in the liquidation procedure of cardboard box provider Helios. Carlos Urzúa's insolvency law practice focuses on representing companies in liquidation and restructuring proceedings; Pauline Chiffelle's recent workload includes a range of insolvency proceedings; and Marcelo Alarcón's dispute resolution practice encompasses insolvency matters.
