The full-service firm’s antitrust and regulated markets practice is consistently sought out to assist with the market’s most significant contentious and non-contentious proceedings before the Chilean Antitrust Court (TDLC) and Supreme Court. The team also has significant experience in obtaining M&A and joint venture-related clearances before Chile’s Antitrust Agency (FNE); while its client base includes both domestic and multinational entities from the telecoms, retail, pharmaceutical, food, energy and infrastructure sectors, as well as mining, automotive, airline, logistics and technology industry clients (among others). Co-leading the group, Lorena Pavic and José Pardo are ‘highly competent, approachable and accessible lawyers’. With extensive experience before the FNE, TDLC and Supreme Court, Pavic’s recent mandates include acting for Chile’s state-owned National Petroleum Company (ENAP) in FNE-initiated proceedings before the TDLC, in relation to the joint operation of Copec, Enex and Esmax’s liquid fuel storage plants; while Pardo’s highlights include advising Codelco (the National Copper Corporation of Chile) on the merger control aspects of its public-private association with Chilean chemical company Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile (SQM), which concerns the implementation of the Chilean Government’s National Lithium Strategy.
