The group is co-led by Pedro Pablo Gutiérrez, a highly respected civil and commercial litigation expert; and Cristóbal Jimeno, whose civil and commercial litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution experience is particularly strong as regards the financial, insurance and construction sectors. The practice further showcases Juan Francisco Asenjo, who focuses on civil and commercial litigation, along with arbitration and administrative proceedings; and civil, commercial and consumer protection litigator Alfredo Waugh. The next line of experienced partners comprises Joaquín Castillo, who is ’client oriented and a great lawyer’; Eugenio Valladares, who acts in civil, commercial, construction and corporate law litigation; and José Tomás Barros, a civil, commercial, insurance and consumer protection disputes specialist. In the associate team Sebastián Zamora is also an experienced civil and commercial litigator, while Pablo Gajardo left the firm in May 2024.

Highlight-Mandate

Representing pension fund Provida, in relation to La Polar’s former executive’s civil liability for a scheme that breached corporate and capital markets laws.
Defending Telefónica Móviles Chile against a damages suit brought by Sociedad Klaus Inversiones.
Representing Compañía de Seguros de Vida BICE and Seguros de Vida Security Previsión  in their respective claims before the judiciary, in which they challenge the legality of  instructions issued by the Financial Market Commission.
