Fielding ‘a team with diverse capabilities, skills, and experience’, Cuatrecasas' eight-strong energy and natural resources practice acts for developers, as well as generation, transmission and distribution companies, on energy-related deals, projects and regulatory work; its expertise ranges from power purchase agreement (PPA) negotiations to conflicts over connection rights. The department is led by Sebastián Leyton, an ’exceptionally knowledgeable’ adviser on PPAs, interconnection issues, construction, and operation and maintenance contracts. Leyton also handles energy sector-related administrative and court proceedings. In the associate team, María Jesús Hernández specialises in energy and infrastructure projects, while Francisca Bannura departed in January 2025 to study at the University of Melbourne.
