With longstanding energy sector experience, Cariola Díez Pérez-Cotapos' eight-member team has significant experience in electric power generation and gas transportation projects, as well as representing electricity distribution companies in arbitration. The department also covers major transactions, infrastructure development and negotiating power purchase agreements. It is additionally experienced in wind and solar energy project developments and green hydrogen production; recent mandates include advising on operation and maintenance agreements (O&M), easements and tolling contracts. Focused on electricity regulation, regulated markets, administrative economic law and environmental matters, practice head Gonzalo Jiménez also leads the firm’s regulatory offering; the practice of M&A co-head Sergio Díez includes drafting O&M and engineering, procurement and construction contracts; and Martín Astorga assists with the development of industrial, energy and infrastructure projects. The experience of senior associate Verónica Cuadra includes negotiating energy supply contracts. Since publication, the firm has hired Cristina Olavarría as a partner; -most recently head legal counsel at Consorcio Eólico, she returns to the firm after a period of some 15 years.
