Assisting both Chilean and overseas clients with protection, exploitation and defence-side work, the practice’s specialisms range from patents, trade marks and licensing, to technology transfers and IP-related agreement drafting. The department, which is additionally experienced in advising start-ups on AI-based technology patent protection, is co-led by Maria Carolina Del Rio, whose expertise includes assisting with the global protection and licensing of patents of Chilean companies, universities, start-ups, and research and development centres; and Maria Mercedes Londoño, who has a notable track record in leading multidisciplinary teams on patent, trade mark and technology mandates. At associate level, senior Gabriela Wildner, along with Sebastián Muller and Constanza Vargas complete the team.
