Baker McKenzie Chile's ‘highly-specialised and agile team’ routinely acts for technology, finance, pharmaceutical and mining companies on tax mandates. The practice covers tax planning for M&A, finance and capital markets transactions; and benefits from the firm’s enviable regional and global network in relation to international tax work. It also assists with the resolution of tax disputes, including litigation before Chile’s High Courts. Heading the four-member department, Alberto Maturana is a longstanding international tax and tax planning specialist; and experienced associate Cristián Bonacic advises on the tax aspects of mining projects, along with manufacturing, financing, IT and banking matters. Bonacic also assists with tax controversy and tax administrative issues. Former associate Tomas Ceppi departed the firm in May 2024.
