Recabarren & Asociados’ tax practitioners are ‘responsible and persistent, and have extensive knowledge of the tax process’. Specialised in tax and legal advisory matters, the 28-strong practice is sought out by both businesses and individuals to assist with the tax aspects surrounding M&A, reorganisations and estate planning. It also covers wealth management work and tax litigation. The department’s key figures are corporate, personal and transactional tax specialist, Soledad Recabarren, whose ’expertise in tax planning and the application of tax regulations is difficult to match’; tax resolution group head Luis Felipe Ocampo, an adviser to companies and family groups on corporate reorganisation-related taxation, family tax planning, and tax audits before the Chilean Internal Revenue Service (IRS); tax planning expert Álvaro Pérez, who acts across the energy, manufacturing, mining, pharmaceutical, retail, and banking and finance sectors; and Mauricio López, whose tax practice encompasses financial structures, mergers, restructurings, capital markets, and strategic tax planning for economic groups. The second line of key advisers includes highly-rated tax litigator Ignacio Iriarte; former EY Chile tax department manager Manuel Montero; firm managing partner and experienced tax lawyer Pablo Chechilnitzky; and Damian Boada, who has ‘significant experience in financial and economic matters’.
