The 17-strong group at legal giant Carey has wide-ranging experience in the regulatory, corporate, financial and contractual aspects of the TMT, sports and entertainment sectors, including the management of multi-jurisdictional projects. The team’s coverage encompasses technology contracting, internet and net neutrality, Internet of Things (IoT), and online content transmission (OCT). The firm is also home to experts in online platforms, M2M (machine to machine), cloud technologies, robotics, blockchain, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), smart contracts, cryptocurrencies, algorithms, artificial intelligence, data protection, cybersecurity and IT matters. On the regulatory side, the department assists with obtaining licenses for fixed, mobile and satellite services, data transmission and protection, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and submarine communications. It additionally fields experts in the internet, broadcasting, antennas, infrastructure services, and open and paid television; and has notable experience in telecoms equipment procurement agreements. Alfonso Silva assists with the regulatory and transactional side to the telecoms industry; while Guillermo Carey acts for state-owned copper mining company Codelco on technology matters.
