Magliona Abogados’ TMT department comprises specialists in technology, telecoms and payments, along with e-commerce, cybersecurity, software businesses, transportation digital platforms, and artificial intelligence and data protection companies. The team also assists with fintech regulation, while fusing specialisms in technology and IP with expertise in public policy and government relations. It additionally advises on the regulations for digital payments. The enviable client base ranges from major media entities Netflix and Amazon Studios, to telecoms clients Echostar, Microsoft Telecom, Entel, Orange and China Mobile. The 14-strong team is co-led by name partner Claudio Magliona, whose extensive practice includes technology law, telecoms, entertainment, and intellectual and industrial property, as well as franchising, data protection, licensing and software development agreements, and film distribution, production and financing; and Nicolás Yuraszeck P, an adviser on telecoms, new technologies and IP. Other key figures are M&A and consumer law specialist Giovanni Donati; corporate, real estate and labour law practitioner Juan Pablo Montiel; and February 2025-promoted partner Karla Cid, who advises on new technologies, IP and telecoms, along with corporate work. At director level, Bárbara Reyes' practice encompasses technology, privacy and cybersecurity issues; Rodrigo Valenzuela advises on entertainment and new technology matters; Carlos Araya’s workload includes the production of films in Chile; and of counsel Matias Danus focuses on the regulatory aspects of the telecoms and television content markets. Former associate Diego Cuadra departed the firm during 2024.
