LK Shields Solicitors LLP and Byrne Wallace LLP merged at the beginning of 2025 to form Byrne Wallace Shields LLP, a white-collar crime team that is highly skilled in handling both prosecution and defence roles in criminal investigations, with particular expertise in cybercrime and fraud cases, including ransomware incidents. The team is frequently engaged by regulators and law enforcement bodies, providing guidance on the exercise of their powers, drafting submissions, and representing them in litigation. Jon Legorburu has longstanding experience of managing investigations and litigation for financial services, healthcare, and insurance sector clients, and jointly heads the team with Sean O’Donnell, who focuses on contentious regulatory issues. Eoin Mac Aodha joined the team in late 2025.
