Linklaters' São Paulo office has a strong focus on M&A transactions, including de-SPAC deals and the acquisition of Brazilian businesses; the Latin America team is also increasingly active in outbound investments by Brazilian clients. Among a number of de-SPAC deals, it advised Latin American science-based food ingredient company, Moolec Science, on its business combination agreement with LightJump Acquisition Corp. Other key markets for the Latin America team include Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico And Peru. Highly-rated São Paulo office head Matthew Poulter leads the Latin America M&A team, which includes a number of fluent and native Spanish and Portuguese speakers. In New York, corporate-finance veteran Conrado Tenaglia provides further gravitas for the Latin America team. Madrid managing associate Alberto García Linera heads the Mexico group at the firm and Sao Paulo managing associate Marcelo Lopez is also rated by clients.

Acted as international counsel to BayWa re Solar Systems in its acquisition of 100% of Ribeiro Solar, a solar distribution company, owned by Hok Participações.
