Acting for sovereign states, treaty bodies, and multinational corporations, the team regularly handles ECT treaty claims, ICSID arbitrations, and ICJ advisory proceedings. The ’invaluable’ Lord (Peter) Goldsmith KC and Jeffrey Sullivan KC jointly co-head the practice; Goldsmith has extensive experience before both domestic and international courts and tribunals, while Sullivan focuses his practice on ECT issues and general international arbitration. ‘Fantastic legal strategist’ Conway Blake has a broad practice that covers the Law of the Sea, sovereign and diplomatic immunity issues, and environmental, human rights, and investment treaty matters, while Samantha Rowe is the name to note for international disputes regarding treaty law, state succession, and maritime boundary issues.
