The full-service Court of Protection team at Charles Russell Speechlys LLP is co-led by Suzanne Marriott and Sally Ashford. It draws on the strength of its international offices, and regularly acts on multi-jurisdictional disputes. In addition, the group often acts for clients where there has been previous financial abuse. Marriott is a member of the Solicitors for the Elderly and the STEP special interest group on mental capacity. Marriott specialises in cross-border and UK mental incapacity and Court of Protection work. Ashford is also a member of the STEP special interest group on mental capacity. Ashford often deals with complex capacity issues in addition to acting as professional deputy for both welfare and property, as well as financial affairs. Tamasin Perkins has particular expertise in acting for elderly clients, and in advising on non-contentious gifting applications.
