The IP practice at Shook Lin & Bok works across several sectors and is skilled in all aspects of IP protection and enforcement, including patents, industrial designs, trademarks and utility innovations. In addition to managing IP portfolios and handling licensing and franchising matters, the department also develops anti-counterfeiting and anti-piracy measures. Recently, the firm has advised on IP issues concerning technology and e-commerce. Managing partner Michael Soo has extensive experience at all levels of Malaysian courts in cases concerning infringement and domain names. Wendy Lee Wan Chieh concentrates on trademark opposition proceedings and the prosecution of trademarks for both local and international clients, and Joseph Yu Shi Yang handles trademark portfolios and various IP disputes.
