ALN Abogados

The Chihuahua-based ALN Abogados is an eight-strong boutique with over 20 years’ experience in the mining sector. The team handles sector-related M&As, joint-ventures and strategic alliances; along with exploration, exploitation and royalty contracts; and the assignment of mining rights to provide a rounded offering, further supported by capability in regulatory compliance, environmental law and land occupancy and community matters. A member of the Canadian-Mexican mining chamber, senior partner Joel A González is a veteran practitioner who leads on all matters with close support from fellow partner Javier Andujo, who specialises in environmental law along with matters related to rights-of-way and land occupation – particularly as regards ejidal land. Associate David Almeida‘s practice is centred upon administrative regulatory matters (including associated contentious procedures) and the representation of clients before entities such as the Dirección General de Minas, the Registro Público de Minería and CONAGUA. Fellow associate Javier Estrada, whose formation has more of a corporate and environmental aspect, also has over a decade’s experience acting for mining clients. March 2024-hire Marco Antonio Perea handles a combination of mining and corporate matters and the team was further strengthened in February-2025 with the hire of Miguel Alejandro Rivera who focuses on regulatory compliance.
