Rodrigo is developing a strong presence in the insurance market and provides ‘practical advice’ on a range of related matters, with a roster of prominent clients in the aviation and marine industries. The firm fields practitioners well-versed in litigation and arbitration related to settlements, plurality of policies and coverage denial, with experience advising insurance companies and insured parties. The practice group is co-led by Guillermo Puelles, who advises on claims disputes, coverage issues, and supervision and investigation by the Banking, Insurance, and Private Pension Funds Superintendence (SBS). April 2024-hire Omar Córdova (previously at Osterling Abogados) also acts as co-lead, bringing specialist expertise in marine insurance and reinsurance. The team is further supported by Jorge Trelles, who contributes financial knowledge pertaining to the energy, infrastructure and mining industries; senior associate Sabrina Montoya, who garners praise for her handling of claims issues; and associate Fiorella Bustamante, a marine insurance specialist who joined in April 2024, also from Osterling Abogados.
