Leveraging its global presence, Jones Day‘s Madrid office frequently advises domestic and international financial institutions, funds, and corporate clients on complex cross-border financing transactions across sectors such as energy, telecoms, food and beverage, healthcare, and hospitality. The team is particularly distinguished for its expertise in energy transition and infrastructure deals and has seen notable activity in real estate finance. Co-head Javier López Antón specialises in leveraged, project, real estate, corporate, and asset-backed financings, acting for both lenders and borrowers. Complementing the team’s transactional capabilities, co-leader Iván Martín-Barbón offers further knowledge of financial services regulations, fintech, and ESG-related issues. Elvira Coloma is another key figure, recognised for her work in bilateral and syndicated lending. José Luis Pita da Veiga joined from RocaJunyent in April 2025.
