Jonathan Youngwood co-chairs Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP ‘s global litigation team out of New York, representing financial services clients ranging from federal bodies to insurance companies and a variety of other corporations. Youngwood is currently representing Paramount Global following its $28bn merger with SkyDance Media, the board of which is accused of breaching fiduciary duties in this deal by the Employees’ Retirement System of Rhode Island. He was also able to secure a major appellate victory for fourteen underwriters concerning their due diligence obligations in relation to one another’s activities, arising out of Archegos Capital’s investments in ViacomCBS, avoiding potentially substantial future liabilities.
