With a core group of New York-based securities litigators as well as being able to draw upon the expertise of practitioners with broader commercial litigation and government enforcement experience, BakerHostetler has the resources and skill to robustly defend public companies, and their directors and officers, across a wide range of class action fraud cases, M&A disputes and breach of fiduciary matters. Under the guidance of the very experienced Douglas Greene, the team, which also has deep relationships with D&O insurance providers, has developed a strong reputation for working up cases, providing judges with the full context of, for example, the alleged mis-statement made by a public company in its offering documents. Greene is one of a number at the firm with skill at handling cases in state and federal courts throughout the country, as is Genevieve York-Erwin, who is particularly adept at representing clinical-stage biotech companies in securities matters. Recently promoted partner Zach Taylor and Cleveland-based Douglas Shively are also key members of the team, particularly in the context of derivative shareholder and corporate governance-related litigation.
