Steptoe LLP continues to excel in defending pipeline companies before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and appellate courts continuously expanding its representation of natural gas pipeline companies. The team focuses efforts on complex regulatory matters and also counsels clients in the specialized area of presidential permits for cross-border pipelines and other pipeline-permitting matters. The team practices a full range of regulatory matters at the FERC, as well as before state regulatory agencies and appellate courts. Co-head of the team and chair of the energy group, Daniel Mullen, counsels clients on energy and commodities enforcement matters and government investigations and also assists clients in the development of energy regulatory compliance programs. Co-head of the team and head of the oil and gas pipeline practice, Daniel Poynor, represents oil and gas pipeline companies before the FERC and appellate courts with extensive experience in a range of regulatory issues. Steven Reed and Steven Brose bring extensive experience with complex pipeline issues and advise companies on their most complex regulatory issues. Joshua Runyan rounds out the team with extensive experience in regulatory matters, investigations, and enforcement proceedings. All mentioned individuals are based in Washington D.C.
