McCarthy Tétrault has continued to grow its sizeable tax practice which advises on tax planning, tax disputes and indirect tax issues. The firm has advised clients on large transactions such as corporate reorganizations and restructurings, handling all domestic and foreign tax planning matters. The firm boasts expertise in financial services, natural resources, real estate, tech and oil and gas sectors. It is also noted for its work on tax litigation, advising on audits, searches and seizures as well as appeals. For commodity tax, the firm assists clients with both tax planning and litigation advice. Practice head Raj Juneja leads the national tax group from Toronto and is the go-to tax counsel for multinationals. Brett Anderson spearheads tax practice from Calgary and is an expert in corporate tax planning and dispute resolution. Jeff Oldewening sits in the Toronto team and advises on tax aspects of M&A and corporate reorganizations.
