Banks in particular, but also companies, rely on A&O Shearman's capital market expertise in bond transactions, bond restructurings and other restructurings in the capital market sector as well as in updating issuance programs and market entry issues. Recently, there has also been increased demand for equity instruments such as AT1 bonds, bonds with ESG references and digital bonds. Cross-border transactions with an Austrian connection are usually led by Marc Plepelits, who also heads the US corporate finance team and subsequently also is the key contact for high-yield bonds and US matters, among other issues. He is part of the team led by Martin Scharnke (debt capital markets, derivatives, securitisation).
