H. Ulrich Dörries

Dr. Dörries ist seit 1993 im gewerblichen Rechtsschutz tätig und einer der Gründungspartner von df-mp. Auf technischer Seite zählen u.a. Molekularbiologie, Biotechnologie, Immunologie, pharmazeutische Wirkstoffe und Polymerchemie zu seinen Spezialgebieten. Er ist zur Vertretung vor dem Deutschen Patent- und Markenamt (DPMA), dem Europäischen Patentamt (EPA), dem Bundespatentgericht (BPatG), dem Bundesgerichtshof (BGH; in Rechtsbeschwerde- und Berufungsverfahren betreffend Entscheidungen des BPatG), dem Einheitlichen Patentgericht (EPG), sowie dem Amt der Europäischen Union für geistiges Eigentum (EUIPO) berechtigt.Ein Schwerpunkt der anwaltlichen Praxis von Dr. Dörries liegt im Bereich der streitigen Verfahren, insbesondere der Beratung und Vertretung in Einspruchsverfahren, Patentnichtigkeitsverfahren und Patentverletzungsverfahren sowie der Erstellung diesbezüglicher Analysen und Gutachten. Dabei konnte er in zahlreichen bedeutenden Patentstreitfällen die Interessen seiner Mandanten erfolgreich durchsetzen bzw. verteidigen. Die Ausarbeitung und Verfolgung deutscher und europäischer Patentanmeldungen zählt ebenfalls zu seinem Tätigkeitsspektrum. Ferner besitzt er umfangreiche Erfahrung in der Beratung zu ergänzenden Schutzzertifikaten (SPCs) und der Koordinierung der Einreichung und Verfolgung entsprechender Anmeldungen in Deutschland und Europa.

Michael Eder

Dr. Eder heads the firm’s chemistry practice group. Dr. Eder began his career in intellectual property in 1999 and joined df-mp in 2000. Since 2007, he is a partner in the firm. Dr. Eder is authorized to represent clients before the German Patent and Trademark Office, the Unified Patent Court (UPC), the German Federal Patent Court, the European Patent Office as well as the European Intellectual Property Office.Michael Eder advises German and foreign clients in all aspects of intellectual property, with an emphasis in the areas of pharmaceuticals, protein biochemistry, and industrial chemistry. His scientific background includes the fields of biophysical, organic und inorganic chemistry, as well as molecular biology. An important part of his practice relates to the drafting, prosecution and coordination of European and German patent applications, particularly in the area of pharmaceutical chemistry and protein biochemistry. Dr. Eder is furthermore responsible for numerous opposition proceedings before the EPO and has been involved in a number of national and multinational patent litigation cases. Another main focus of his work lies in rendering patent validity and infringement opinions in connection with freedom-to-operate und due diligence projects, as well as counselling clients in matters relating to supplementary protection certificates (SPCs) for pharmaceuticals in Europe.

Ortrun Günzel

Ortrun Günzel has been an attorney at law since 2000 and is a partner at the Munich based IP firm df-mp and heads the firm's trademark practice. Her primary focus is on trademark, design and unfair competition litigation, and she helps clients in developing their brand strategies and in defending and enforcing IP rights in and out of court. She has wide experience in anti-counterfeiting measures and in negotiating agreements for the exploitation of IP rights. Special expertise lies in matters relating to Geographical Indications and certification marks. Ortrun publishes and is a frequent speaker on trademark law.

Annette Hilgendorf

Dr. Hilgendorf joined df-mp in 2003 and is a member of the firm’s biotechnology and pharmaceuticals practice groups. She is authorized to represent clients before the German Patent and Trademark Office, the Unified Patent Court (UPC), the German Federal Patent Court, the European Patent Office as well as the European Intellectual Property Office.As a long-standing member of the firm Dr. Hilgendorf is highly experienced in conducting opposition proceedings in the fields of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and protein biochemistry. Dr. Hilgendorf has a scientific background in both chemistry as well as the life sciences, including molecular biology, microbial process engineering and plant biotechnology. Recently, Dr. Hilgendorf has acted as lead attorney in attacking and defending CRISPR patents in EPO opposition proceedings.Dr. Hilgendorf is very dedicated with prosecution matters and has enforced or defended her clients’ interests in various patent disputes. A further focus of her practice is the preparation of patent infringement and validity opinions forming part of freedom-to-operate analyses in the field of medical use patents.

Oliver Schulz

Seit 2004 ist Oliver Schulz im gewerblichen Rechtschutz tätig. Er vertritt in- und ausländische Mandanten vor dem Europäischen Patentamt, dem Deutschen Patent- und Markenamt, dem Bundespatentgericht und dem Amt der Europäischen Union für geistiges Eigentum. Oliver Schulz ist Mitglied der Abteilungen Physik, Elektrotechnik und Mechanik sowie Marken und Geschmacksmuster.Oliver Schulz' Tätigkeitsschwerpunkt liegt in der Durchführung von Patent-Anmeldeverfahren, Einspruchsverfahren und Nichtigkeitsverfahren sowie in der Erstellung von Patentverletzungs- und Validitätsgutachten. Seine Spezialgebiete sind Beleuchtungstechnik, Medizintechnik, Optik und Telekommunikation. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt seiner Tätigkeit liegt in der Durchführung von Anmelde- und Widerspruchsverfahren deutscher und europäischer Marken und Geschmacksmuster wie auch in deren Durchsetzung und Verteidigung.
